What to expect
There is no universal approach to therapy and I build tailored sessions specifically for each client, to reflect his or her individual personality and needs. I offer a space where you can explore thoughts and feelings and build self-awareness in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment.
The goal help you find ways to make better decisions, assess belief systems, change behaviour, and to improve relationships. My job is to provide an environment where you feel safe enough to process your inner thoughts and feelings and to help you live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
My approach to therapy is integrative and draws on Humanistic, CBT, and psychodynamic models. I also have experience with the 12 step approach and can facilitate the recovery process with you.
I truly love this work and bring my experience, passion and creativity to each session. I am happy for you to contact me via email or phone to set up a free initial appointment where we can talk about the process of therapy and I can answer any questions you might have. I will respond to your enquiry the same day.
“Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol, morphine or idealism.”
Carl Jung
Therapy with me is an active process that requires your committed engagement. This may involve written work, journal keeping, and other therapeutic exercises. The more you are willing to put into therapy, the more you are likely to get out of it.
Typically, it may take several sessions to assess your situation and develop a treatment plan. From there, we will review the issues that led you to seek help in the context of your whole life. For some clients, a few months of therapy may be enough to facilitate the changes they need, while others may require ongoing support over a longer, more open-ended period.
